At the time of writing, Wikipedia lists 49 films that have been based on works by Stephen King, including Carrie (1996 and 2013), The Shining (1980), Cujo and Christine (both 1983), Firestarter (1984), Pet Sematery (1989 and 2019), Misery (1990), Dolores Claiborne (1995), The Green Mile (1999), and It (2017). There are a further eleven in the pipeline.
